This role involves comprehensive management and operational support for a physics-chemistry laboratory, focusing on both organizational tasks and hands-on experimental work. The successful candidate will be responsible for training doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, managing lab supplies and databases, and implementing and maintaining new equipment like E-Beam evaporators and scanning probe instruments. A key aspect of the role is active participation in research projects, including chemical synthesis of customized compounds, supporting experimental setups, and performing scanning probe microscopy and NMR characterization. The position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and excellent English communication, making it ideal for a detail-oriented professional eager to contribute to cutting-edge scientific research.
Required Skills
Education
PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or other relevant fields
Experience
- Proven experience in managing laboratory services in chemistry (chemicals, waste management, data management, instruments, resource management, storage)
- Experience in managing laboratory systems and supplies
- Extensive experience with chemical/physical characterization techniques
- Professional experience in neuronal data imaging (single-cell calcium imaging or fiber photometry) and analysis of such data with Python or MATLAB
- Experience with scanning probe microscopy and NMR characterization is an advantage
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB
