Job Summary
This is a leadership role as the Head of Administration and Central Services within the School and Sports Department of the Mönchengladbach City Administration, starting permanently on April 1, 2026. The successful candidate will lead two teams (13 employees total) covering Budget, Procurement, Digitalization/IT Coordination, Personnel, and Central Services, providing essential administrative expertise. Day-to-day responsibilities include strategic development, carrying product responsibility, defining strategic goals, and overseeing budget planning. A key focus is interface management, clarifying responsibilities, and improving workflows between specialized departments within the city administration. The role requires proven leadership experience and a background in public administration, law, or economics, offering a secure public service position with flexible working hours and comprehensive benefits.
Required Skills
Education
Eligibility for Career Group 2, First Entry Level of Non-Technical Administrative Service, or completed Administrative Course II, or a completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a focus on administrative, legal, or economic sciences
Experience
- At least two years of relevant professional experience in public administration or two years of experience in case management within public administration (required for degree holders)
- At least two years of leadership experience
- Professional experience in budget planning, procurement, and personnel (preferred)
