Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Operations Chemistry division at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II), one of the world's most advanced neutron sources located in Garching near Munich. The Technical Assistant will be responsible for critical day-to-day tasks including sampling, preparation, and determination of chemical parameters, as well as activity measurement of operating waters for both the FRM II and the older FRM facility. A key component of the job is performing metrological tasks related to the environmental monitoring program and meticulously documenting all results to ensure compliance with strict regulatory limits and guidelines. Candidates should possess a relevant technical assistant qualification (CTA, MTLA, BTA) and ideally have professional laboratory experience, though junior applicants are welcome. The position requires strong analytical chemistry skills, knowledge of water chemistry, and a high degree of reliability and self-reliance, operating independently with measuring devices and technical systems after thorough training.

Experience
