Job Summary

This role involves transforming conceptual ideas into fully functional, safe, and series-ready electrical systems within the specialized machine construction sector. The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for end-to-end hardware engineering, including creating detailed electrical schematics, terminal and cable plans, bills of materials, and control cabinet layouts. A core focus is ensuring designs comply with relevant standards such as EN 60204-1 and EN ISO 13849 (Performance Level). Key duties also include selecting and dimensioning components like servo drives, power supplies, sensors, and safety components, while designing robust network architectures using industrial communication protocols like PROFINET and EtherCAT. The ideal candidate possesses a degree or vocational training in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, coupled with several years of experience in electrical design using CAE tools (EPLAN, SOLIDWORKS Electrical). Required Skills

Education

Degree or vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a comparable technical qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in electrical design for machines and systems

  • Experience working with CAE systems (SOLIDWORKS Electrical, EPLAN, WSCAD or similar)
  • Knowledge of machine safety, drive technology, and industrial communication
