Job Summary

This position calls for a dedicated Scientific Researcher to join the Textile Laser Research department at the Saxon Textile Research Institute (STFI). The core responsibilities revolve around the full lifecycle management of research and industrial projects, including the acquisition of third-party funding, creation of detailed project proposals and reports, and coordination of project consortia. A significant part of the role involves the practical application of laser technology, requiring programming and operating various laser systems for both publicly funded research and industrial services, as well as setting up and adapting experimental configurations. Candidates must hold a degree in Physics or a related engineering field and demonstrate experience in project management, laser system operation, and safety protocols. The role is challenging and varied, requiring strong organizational skills, proficiency in both German and English (B2 minimum), and offers an unlimited contract in a dynamic research environment where scientific findings are actively transferred into industrial practice, including teaching opportunities.
