Job Summary

This role involves leading the strategic development and standardization of IT architecture within the German Pension Insurance (DRV) and its joint data center, focusing on creating a sustainable and economical IT landscape. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining architecture goals and standards, researching and evaluating new market technologies for implementation, and ensuring the continuous modernization of existing infrastructures. The expert will play a crucial role in developing cross-cutting information system, technology, and operational architectures. Key requirements include extensive professional experience in IT architecture, specifically covering areas like virtualization, networking, security components, and automation. The ideal candidate must possess a Master’s degree (or equivalent qualification), strong coordination skills, and a structured, independent working style, coupled with a high degree of service orientation. This position offers an opportunity to shape the future IT landscape of a major German social security institution.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or comparable university degree), or equivalent qualification per Federal Civil Service Ordinance (BLV)/Advanced Training Collective Agreement

Experience

  • Long-term relevant professional experience in the IT environment (ideally Server, Networks, Storage, Data Backup, Infrastructure Concepts, Virtualization, Container Technology, DevSecOps)
  • Professional experience in IT architecture, methods, technologies, standards, and products
  • Experience in coordinating project teams
  • Ideally, initial experience in disciplinary leadership of employees
  • Current knowledge of relevant market products or services and control instruments

Languages

  • Willingness to travel on business trips; Must pass a security clearance check (Sicherheitsüberprüfung gemäß § 9 SÜG); Required to be present predominantly at the Berlin location during the onboarding phase; Position is considered susceptible to corruption, requiring special reliability and integrity.
