Job Summary

This permanent, full-time position involves managing and maintaining chemical laboratories, specifically supporting educational environments. The Chemical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory apparatus and equipment, ensuring they are operational and safe. Key daily tasks include preparing and supporting laboratory instruction, stocking student workstations with necessary chemicals and consumables, and overseeing work conducted on expensive or sensitive equipment. A crucial part of the role is inventory management, including maintaining records for chemicals, consumables, and equipment. Candidates must possess a background as a Chemical Technician or Laboratory Technician, with practical experience in organic, preparative, and laboratory chemistry. Strong analytical thinking, technical understanding, and proficiency in MS Excel and Access are required, alongside excellent social competence for effective collaboration with students and teachers.
