The Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead their 'Safe Large Language Models' research area. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy, from fundamental research to industrial transfer, for safe and reliable AI applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing cross-departmental research and application projects, strengthening the institute's leading position in 'Safe Intelligence' through groundbreaking research, and promoting the use of LLM potential in safety-critical applications. The position also includes mentoring senior scientists and supervising doctoral candidates, contributing to a collaborative and innovative research environment focused on impactful, reliable AI solutions.
Required Skills
Education
Doctorate or comparable qualification in Computer Science or a related field
Experience
- Extensive professional experience in research and development, particularly in cross-organizational topic area design
- Successful leadership of innovation programs of national/international significance
