Job Summary
This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of a chemistry laboratory within an educational institution, primarily supporting teaching staff and maintaining a safe learning environment. The Chemical Laboratory Technician is responsible for managing chemical inventory, procuring and preparing reagents, and maintaining all laboratory equipment and accessories. Key daily tasks include administering the issuance and return of equipment, ensuring proper storage and disposal of chemicals according to standards, and continuously checking safety and first aid facilities. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant vocational qualification or technical school degree in Chemistry, along with professional experience in the field. Strong organizational skills, proficiency in IT applications, and excellent communication abilities are crucial, as the role requires direct interaction with students and teachers while upholding strict safety protocols.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational apprenticeship (BAG) or technical secondary school degree (BMS) in Chemistry. First Aid certification is desired.
Experience
- Professional experience in chemistry or a related technical field (multiple years desired)
- Experience with current safety regulations regarding chemical handling
- Experience with chemicals, laboratory equipment, and accessories
