Job Summary

This role is ideal for an experienced professional focused on ensuring material quality and compliance within the automotive manufacturing process. The Materials Laboratory Technician will independently conduct a wide range of material testing, including hardness testing (Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell), metallographic examinations, and spectral analysis, ensuring components meet technical drawings and specifications. Key responsibilities involve creating and validating measuring and testing programs, performing series-accompanying material controls in the hardening shop, and supporting failure analysis on returned parts. The position requires a background in material testing, metallography, or a related technical field, proficiency with QM standards (like IATF 16949), and experience in creating test plans and interpreting technical drawings. This role offers the opportunity to apply extensive technical expertise to critical quality assurance measures, ensuring stable serial production processes for leading automotive clients.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Material Testing, Metallography, Chemical/Physical Laboratory Assistant, or Industrial Mechanic/Mechatronics Technician with relevant further training. Ideally, further qualification as a Technician (Materials Technology, Metal Technology, Physics) or comparable qualification.
