Job Summary

This role, (Junior) Specialist, Network Administration - Fiber Management, is crucial for maintaining the complex IT and telecommunications network of DB InfraGO AG in Berlin, contributing directly to Germany's fiber expansion efforts. Day-to-day responsibilities involve acting as the Fiber Manager, focusing heavily on documenting the technical infrastructure, planning fiber optic cable routes (including selecting routes and fiber types), and overseeing their installation in various environments. You will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of the fiber infrastructure to ensure stable performance, diagnosing faults such as damaged cables or faulty connections, and efficiently implementing repairs. A key function is optimizing and expanding the network to meet growing bandwidth demands and maintaining precise, detailed documentation of all critical network components. Candidates must possess an engineering degree in relevant fields like Telecommunications Technology or comparable technical training, coupled with expertise in cable technology. Proficiency in specialized IT tools such as SAP/DMS/DVS-IZ Plan, NeDocS, and Visio is required, alongside a structured, goal-oriented, and safety-conscious approach to work.
