Job Summary
This role seeks an Optronics Systems Engineer or Physicist to join an interdisciplinary team focused on cutting-edge security policy topics, specifically related to unmanned systems and drone defense. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed studies in Optronics, contributing to Research & Technology development projects—including hardware development—and performing complex simulations of infrared signatures using specialized software. A core function involves the preparation, execution, and evaluation of thermal infrared (IR) measurements, both in laboratory and field testing environments. The ideal candidate must hold a degree in Physics or a related engineering field, possess a strong grasp of thermal IR physics, and demonstrate proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Matlab. Experience in physical phenomena simulation and IR measurement techniques is highly valued. This position offers involvement in critical future technologies and flexible working arrangements.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Technical Optics, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience in Optronics studies related to unmanned systems (e.g., drones, missiles)
- Experience in Research & Technology development projects for drone defense
- Experience in the simulation of physical phenomena
- Experience with measurements in the thermal infrared spectrum and associated optical sensor technologies (desirable)
