Job Summary

The City of Goslar, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is seeking a dedicated Wastewater Engineering Specialist to join the Environmental and Water Protection Department on a permanent, full-time basis. This critical role involves comprehensive regulatory monitoring of industrial and commercial wastewater discharge facilities, including both direct and indirect dischargers. Day-to-day responsibilities include data collection, evaluation, maintaining the Wastewater Cadastre (AKN), and fulfilling reporting obligations to the State of Lower Saxony. You will also be heavily involved in official monitoring of wastewater treatment plants and participating in water rights approval processes for water extraction and discharge. Key requirements include a degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Civil Engineering with a focus on Wastewater Technology, coupled with fluent German (C1 level) and excellent knowledge of environmental and water law. Required Skills

Education

Experience

  • Professional experience in regulatory monitoring of industrial and commercial wastewater discharge facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Wastewater Technology, Aquatic Ecology, and Water/Environmental Law.
  • Professional experience in processing water rights procedures and reviewing building applications related to water management.
  • Experience in data collection, evaluation, and maintenance of wastewater cadastres.
