This role involves specialized laboratory analysis within the environmental sector for a leading European analytics group. The primary responsibility is the analysis of material, dust, and air samples for asbestos and artificial mineral fibers using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM-EDX). Day-to-day tasks include meticulous sample preparation, conducting microscopy, ensuring timely sample processing, and comprehensive documentation of results. A critical component of the job is maintaining quality assurance standards strictly according to DIN EN ISO 17025, and contributing to the creation of detailed work instructions. Candidates must possess a degree in Geo- or Material Sciences (B.Sc.) or a relevant vocational qualification (e.g., Chemical Laboratory Assistant). Ideal applicants will bring practical experience operating and maintaining SEMs, along with foundational mineralogical knowledge. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (B.Sc.) in Geo- or Material Sciences, or vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Assistant (CTA) or comparable qualification (MTA, UTA, PTA)

Experience

  • Practical experience in the operation and maintenance of Scanning Electron Microscopes (highly desirable)
  • Practical know-how in microscopic procedures
