Job Summary

This is a leadership role overseeing the entire Civil Engineering Department for the city of Müllheim i. M. The Head of Department will be responsible for the overall management of three specialized areas, leading staff, and fostering a modern administrative culture. Key day-to-day activities include planning, project management, and steering municipal construction projects across civil engineering, including flood protection, road construction, and infrastructure for supply and disposal, covering all service phases of the HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers). The role also involves acting as the client representative for externally commissioned services, representing municipal interests in major projects like the Rheintalbahn expansion, and serving as the Technical Director for the 'Weilertal Water Supply' association. The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, coupled with significant professional and leadership experience, preferably within the public sector, along with strong decision-making and strategic thinking skills.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Civil Engineering (Dipl.-Ing. FH/TU or Master) with a focus on Civil Engineering, or a comparable relevant university degree

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the public service or a comparable organization
  • Several years of leadership experience in the public service or a comparable organization
  • Experience in planning, project management, and project steering of municipal construction measures
  • Experience acting as the client representative (Bauherrenfunktion)
