Job Summary

This role involves administering and supporting critical specialized applications within the municipal IT environment, focusing on systems used by departments such as the Fire Department, Rescue Services, and Finance. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing system updates, installing software, controlling user roles and permissions at the administrator level, and administering interfaces to preliminary systems. You will provide essential Second-Level Support and coordinate involvement in Third-Level Support, assisting external service providers with troubleshooting. Furthermore, the role requires technical planning and execution of migration projects (upgrades and system changes) and supporting the creation of technical performance specifications. The ideal candidate possesses a background in IT system administration or computer science, coupled with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. This position offers an unlimited contract, flexible working hours, and options for home office within the City of Ratingen administration.

Education

Vocational training as an IT Specialist/System Administration (or comparable) OR Bachelor's/Diploma in Computer Science/Business Informatics (or comparable)

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT system administration or comparable field
  • Multi-year professional experience in application administration (ideal)
  • Experience supporting external IT service providers
