Job Summary

This role involves maintaining, expanding, and modernizing Berlin's 36,000-kilometer power grid, specifically focusing on high-voltage operations in the East region. The Switching Master is responsible for coordinating and executing switching operations, ensuring safety regulations are met in substations, and managing traffic safety measures during work on high-voltage electrical systems. Key daily tasks include performing switching operations, taking plant responsibility, coordinating assembly activities, and actively participating in testing and commissioning new or modified systems. The ideal candidate will possess a degree as an Electrical Engineering Technician or Master Electrician, fundamental knowledge of high-voltage substation operation and maintenance, and a structured, process-oriented approach. This position is vital for maintaining network availability and requires participation in on-call duty, offering a stable career path with a focus on sustainable urban energy.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as an Electrical Engineering Technician or Master Electrician, or a comparable qualification, or willingness to complete such further training. Training for switching personnel > 1 kV (beneficial).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the operation and maintenance of substations in the high-voltage grid
  • Experience in technical coordination with specialist departments and service providers
  • Experience coordinating personnel deployment and material resources
  • Knowledge of the power distribution network (beneficial)
  • Experience in IT (beneficial)
