Job Summary
This role offers an engaging opportunity for a Civil or Environmental Engineer to contribute actively to environmental protection within the Water Management Office. Day-to-day responsibilities include the technical processing of water law procedures and expert opinions, particularly concerning flood protection, hydraulic engineering, water body development, and hydropower. The successful candidate will also coordinate and technically review measures for implementing the EU Water Framework Directive for surface waters, and manage funding for flood protection projects and river basin studies. Additionally, the role involves advising municipalities on hydraulic engineering issues, especially regarding flood protection and heavy rainfall considerations, and maintaining data in the environmental information system. This position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong social competence and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diplom-Ingenieur or Bachelor) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in civil or environmental engineering, specifically in hydraulic engineering
- Experience with water law procedures and expert opinions
- Experience in coordinating and reviewing environmental measures
- Experience in managing funding for water-related projects
- Experience in advising municipalities on water management issues
- Administrative experience is advantageous
