Job Summary
This role involves working as a Data Scientist focused on programming within the Robert Koch Institute’s Center for Artificial Intelligence in Public Health Research (ZKI-PH). The primary responsibilities include preparing, managing, and linking complex data sets for ongoing research, ensuring data quality, and visualizing intricate patterns. A key function is supporting the development and optimization of advanced algorithms, including contributing to AI models designed to replace time-intensive deterministic simulations in areas like fluid mechanics and multiphysics, and enhancing models for calculating disease burdens. Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field, coupled with solid programming skills and expertise in quantitative data analysis. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in a medical, information technology, natural science, or engineering discipline.
Experience
- Professional experience in quantitative data analysis
- Practical experience handling complex data bodies
- Initial practical experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning (Desirable)
- Initial experience in mathematical modeling (Desirable)

- Must not have previously held a federal employment contract (excluding training/apprenticeship). Willingness to participate in and successfully complete an extended security clearance check (§ 9 SÜG). Fixed-term contract (2 years). Location constraint: Wildau.
