Job Summary

This crucial role within the Municipal Statistics Office in Neuss involves transforming planning-relevant data into actionable insights for administration, politics, and the public. Day-to-day responsibilities include the technical organization, optimization, and quality assurance of existing databases, alongside developing future-proof database structures. You will be instrumental in advancing information management, conceiving interfaces for internal and external data sources, and driving the OpenData transformation agenda. A core function is the creation and enhancement of municipal statistical reports using specialized software like SPSS, R, and QGIS, coupled with conducting scientific urban research and GIS-supported spatial analysis. Candidates must possess a scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) in an empirical science such as Data Science, Statistics, or Informatics, coupled with strong IT application skills. Success requires expertise in statistical methods, data modeling, and the ability to communicate complex statistical findings clearly and objectively.

Master's degree (or equivalent scientific university diploma) in empirical sciences, including (Geo-)Informatics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Geography, or a related field focusing on applied statistics, econometrics, or IT.
