Job Summary

This Senior Architect role involves taking end-to-end responsibility for designing and implementing a central IT platform dedicated to controlling and managing software updates across the entire vehicle lifecycle within the Car-IT domain. Day-to-day tasks include defining the architectural roadmap, coordinating technical, organizational, and functional work packages—spanning IT architecture, interfaces, operations, and security. The architect ensures the target architecture is met, manages project milestones, budgets, resources, and quality standards, and handles high-level reporting and risk management. Key qualifications include a relevant technical degree and several years of experience leading complex IT/platform projects, ideally within the automotive or embedded sector. Success requires a deep understanding of Software Lifecycle Management (from development to tracking), proficiency in backend architectures, APIs, queues, and robust knowledge of IT security and governance. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Computer Science, Vehicle Technology, Industrial Engineering, or comparable field

Experience

  • Several years of experience in leading complex IT/platform projects, ideally in automotive or embedded environments
  • Professional experience with Software Lifecycle Management around development, flashing, update, deployment, and tracking
  • Professional experience with Backend Architectures, interface concepts (APIs, Queues), data flows, and platform operation
  • Professional experience in managing partners, service providers, and internal development structures
  • Knowledge of IT Security, Compliance, and Governance (Authorization concepts, Auditability, System separation)
