Job Summary
This role involves performing independent chemical, physical-chemical, and sensory analyses on various non-food products, including cosmetics, tattoo agents, tobacco products, and biological samples like blood, at the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) in Bad Kissingen. The successful candidate will apply diverse sample preparation techniques (e.g., extraction, migration) and analytical methods such as enzymatic analysis, chromatography, photometry, titrimetry, and elemental analysis (ICP/AAS), often utilizing automated clinical chemistry systems. Key responsibilities also include data evaluation, plausibility checks, method development/validation, and essential laboratory organizational tasks, including quality assurance (QS) measures and sample logistics. This position offers the opportunity to work in a newly established laboratory focusing on crucial public health and consumer protection issues within a supportive, interdisciplinary team environment, ensuring safe products and healthy living standards in Bavaria.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA), Chemical Laboratory Technician, or comparable technical assistant qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in chemical sample preparation for instrumental measurements
- Knowledge of instrumental chemical analysis (ideally)
- Experience with chromatographic measurement procedures and evaluation of mass spectrometric data (ideally)
- Knowledge in clinical chemistry (ideally)
- Experience with evaluation of test results and method validation
- Professional experience in quality assurance in a chemical laboratory (ideally)

- Initial contract is limited to a maximum of two years; Willingness to work with biological samples in an S2 laboratory and adhere to corresponding hygiene regulations; High sense of responsibility, especially regarding forensic issues; Location constraint: Bad Kissingen, Germany.
