Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Section Head to lead a team of 10 professionals responsible for Energy and Transport Statistics and Environmental Economic Accounting. Day-to-day responsibilities involve the professional and disciplinary leadership of the team, ensuring the timely collection, processing, analysis, and publication of crucial statistical data related to energy supply, usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and transportation events. The successful candidate will manage task distribution, monitor performance, and guarantee the comprehensive quality of all statistical output. Furthermore, you will drive the technical and organizational development of workflows, conduct statistical analyses for publications, and serve as the primary contact for inquiries from government, business, and political stakeholders. Key qualifications include a university degree in Economics or Engineering, ideally with a focus on energy, transport, or environmental technology, coupled with proven leadership capabilities and fluent German (C1).
