Job Summary

This role seeks a Chemical Laboratory Technician to join the Institute for Occupational, Social, and Environmental Medicine. The primary responsibilities involve developing and applying modern analytical methods, specifically focusing on ultrastrace analysis. Day-to-day tasks include the meticulous analysis and preparation of biological samples (like blood and urine) and environmental media (air, water, soil) for work- and environment-relevant pollutants and metabolites. A critical part of the job is ensuring the highest quality standards through rigorous quality assurance and performing routine maintenance on highly sophisticated mass spectrometers. Candidates must possess completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA) and demonstrate strong teamwork, communication skills, and an interest in complex analytical questions. While not mandatory, prior experience in trace analysis and operating mass spectrometers is highly beneficial.
