Job Summary
The Technical Writer will join the Operations team in Männedorf, focusing on creating, managing, and maintaining technical documentation for Tecan's manufactured products, serving end-users, service personnel, and production staff. Key responsibilities include generating user documentation, primarily in English, such as operating, service, and software manuals, as well as production instructions and testing procedures. You will be responsible for content creation and maintenance using XML-based CMS (Schema ST4) and DTP applications (Adobe FrameMaker), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing documentation relevant content derived from risk analysis. The role also involves product photography, image editing, and creating technical illustrations from 2D and 3D data. The ideal candidate possesses a technical degree or equivalent professional experience, coupled with at least five years of professional experience in technical writing. Education
Completed technical degree and further education as a Technical Editor, OR a degree focused on Technical Editing.
Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Technical Writer.
- Good knowledge using standard DTP, illustration, and image editing tools (FrameMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Good knowledge of Schema ST4.
- Good knowledge of standard 3D illustration software.
