Job Summary

This role involves taking responsibility for the independent hardware design of vacuum technology systems, leveraging modern Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, with a specific focus on Zuken E³. Day-to-day tasks include planning and dimensioning complex electrical systems, selecting appropriate automation components, sensors, and electric drives. The engineer will analyze hardware and control system requirements to ensure effective electrical implementation, and must create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, and change notices. A key responsibility is developing manufacturing and testing documentation in strict compliance with relevant national and international standards (e.g., EN, UL). Success requires a completed degree in Electrical or Automation Technology (or a Technician certification with professional experience), coupled with practical experience in electrical design using CAD software, ideally Zuken E³. Candidates should also possess expertise in programming and designing machine controls and automation solutions. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex development projects for renowned mechanical engineering clients.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or comparable technical university education; alternatively, Technician certification with relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical design using CAD software, ideally Zuken E³
  • Experience in programming and design of machine controls, drive technology, and automation solutions
  • Knowledge of designing EMC-compliant assemblies and handling CE directives (advantageous)
