Job Summary

This role involves the technical execution and commissioning of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems both on-site globally and within the test center. The engineer is responsible for ensuring the timely and high-quality implementation of commissioning processes, including rigorous integration tests and functional checks of HVDC control and protection (C&P) hardware and software. Key duties include creating, documenting, and executing detailed test programs for converter and pole control systems, as well as conducting factory acceptance tests at sub-suppliers. You will also support the commissioning management team in quality, risk, and claim management activities. Candidates must possess a completed university degree in Electrical or Energy Technology and proven knowledge of power converter technology, high voltage engineering, and control systems, ideally within the HVDC domain. This specialized position requires significant worldwide travel and long-term assignments, potentially offshore, necessitating fluency in both German (B2+) and English.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in the technical execution of commissioning (IBS) of HVDC systems
  • Experience in HVDC systems, particularly control, regulation, measurement, protection, and communication systems (advantageous)
  • Experience with planning, execution, and evaluation of workshop acceptance tests
