Job Summary

This role focuses on the data-driven optimization of battery cell production within the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, a leading research organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying promising data-driven use cases across the entire battery value chain, preparing heterogeneous data, and developing robust Data Preprocessing Pipelines. A core function involves designing, developing, and implementing advanced Machine Learning and AI models for production-near deployment, aiming to improve industrial battery cell manufacturing processes. Day-to-day tasks include working on optimization from raw materials to the finished cell, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, and actively participating in the acquisition and coordination of national and international research projects. Key requirements include a Master's degree in a MINT field (e.g., Engineering or Computer Science) and initial practical experience in Data Science, ideally within battery technology, utilizing tools like Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a critical 'lighthouse project' for European battery production, work in an inspiring environment, and pursue a Ph.D. in a self-developed research area.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (Diplom or Master) in Engineering, (Business) Informatics, a MINT field, or a comparable scientific university degree.

Experience
