Job Summary

This IT Technician role is situated within the Operations Technology Team at the Computing Center of the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. The position is central to the planning, operation, and continuous development of the university's network and server infrastructure across the campus. Daily tasks include setting up and configuring switches, managing professional cabling, and administering the entire data network, including the crucial WLAN infrastructure. The technician will also be responsible for handling user inquiries and troubleshooting via a ticketing system, providing expert network consulting, and maintaining meticulous documentation and quality management processes. Successful candidates must hold a relevant vocational qualification (e.g., IT System Electronics Technician), demonstrate at least three years of professional experience, and possess solid knowledge of specific networking tools like Aruba OS-CX, HP ProCurve, and Intelligent Management Center (IMC). This role offers the chance to support key academic and research functions in a modern university environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as Information Electronics Technician, IT System Electronics Technician, or comparable vocational training

Experience
