Job Summary
This role involves high-impact regulatory work within the State Trade Supervisory Authority of Lower Saxony, focusing on comprehensive occupational safety, environmental protection, and consumer protection. The inspector will be responsible for safeguarding employees from work-related accidents and health hazards, and protecting the public and environment from harmful impacts like air pollution, noise, and odors. Day-to-day duties include issuing permits, conducting inspections, and providing expert consultation to businesses and administrations to ensure legal compliance and contribute significantly to societal welfare. Candidates must possess a Master Craftsman qualification or be a State-Certified Technician, demonstrating strong technical knowledge, assertiveness, quick comprehension, and conflict resolution skills. This position offers a supportive team environment, flexible hours, mobile work options after initial training, and starts with a two-year fixed-term contract with the strong potential for permanent employment and eventual civil service status (Beamtenverhältnis) upon successful completion of the comprehensive multi-stage training program.
Required Skills
Education
Passed Master Craftsman Examination (Meisterprüfung) or State-Certified Technician qualification, preferably in Metal/Machinery, Automotive, Electrical Engineering, or Construction trades.
Experience
- Professional experience in a commercial or industrial environment (advantageous, but entry-level welcome)
- Willingness to conduct external appointments and field service
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
