Job Summary
This role involves serving as a crucial interface between field control/monitoring activities and internal data administration/maintenance planning within the Wastewater Association's channel maintenance department. Day-to-day duties are split between office work and fieldwork, utilizing modern digital equipment. Key responsibilities include inspecting various settlement drainage structures (manholes, retention basins) and performing minor surveying tasks (GPS, leveling) to update cadastral systems. The specialist will analyze flow and pump data to identify faulty connections, plan and operate a measurement network for permanent data collection, and manage data related to ground easements. Furthermore, the role involves planning, commissioning, construction supervision, and billing for smaller structural maintenance projects. Candidates must possess relevant vocational training, preferably supplemented by a State-Certified Technician or Master Craftsman qualification, and demonstrate strong German language skills (B2 minimum).
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training (e.g., Surveying Technician, Civil Drafter, Wastewater Technology Specialist, Pipe Layer, Sewer Builder, or Water Builder). Preferred: State-Certified Technician (Environmental Technology, Civil Engineering/Trenchless Technology, or comparable) OR Master Craftsman (Wastewater, Pipe/Sewer/Industrial Service, or comparable).
Experience
- Professional experience in a relevant vocational field (e.g., surveying, civil drafting, wastewater technology, or pipe/sewer construction)
- Knowledge in the maintenance of sewer networks (desirable, but entry-level professionals are welcome)
- Experience in applying specialized technical knowledge quickly, securely, and correctly
- Willingness to work in both field operations and office environments

- Class B driving license required. Willingness to pursue further part-time education to obtain Technician or Master Craftsman qualification if only basic vocational training is held. Full-time (39 hours/week) or part-time employment possible.
