Job Summary
The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion seeks a dedicated Technician or Master Craftsman to ensure the reliable operation of its critical technical infrastructure in Mülheim an der Ruhr. This role is vital for supporting cutting-edge research in chemical energy conversion. Day-to-day responsibilities include the independent maintenance, repair, and optimization of all technical building systems, including heating, ventilation, cooling, and plumbing (HLSK) systems, as well as neutralization and deionized water facilities. The specialist will troubleshoot malfunctions, ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., VDI 6022/6023), and coordinate external maintenance contractors. Candidates must possess a relevant technical qualification (Technician or Master Craftsman HLSK) and proven professional experience in facility and operational technology. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training with further qualification as a state-certified Technician or Master Craftsman in Heating Technology, Ventilation Technology, Plumbing Technology, or Climate Technology (HLSK). Optional: State-certified Technician in Supply/Media Technology or Construction Technology with a focus on Technical Building Equipment (TGA).

- Professional experience in facility and operational technology, ideally in maintenance and servicing
- Experience in maintenance and servicing organization
- Experience in the supervision, analysis, and optimization of HVAC and plumbing systems
