Job Summary
The Automation Engineer will be pivotal in shaping the future of clinical trials by ensuring the technical availability and continuous optimization of automation systems, production, and infrastructure facilities within Global Clinical Supply Operations in Basel. This end-to-end ownership role involves managing complex automation systems, building control systems, room monitoring, and network infrastructure to guarantee uninterrupted production. Key responsibilities include leading investment projects, managing scope, budget, and resources, and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technically complex work packages. A crucial part of the role is developing and implementing a digitalization roadmap for automation systems, ensuring strict adherence to cGxP and HSE guidelines. The ideal candidate brings around 10 years of experience in plant planning, software development, and automation projects, coupled with strong project leadership skills and familiarity with highly regulated production environments. This position offers the chance to make a direct impact on drug development by securing the supply chain for clinical studies.
Required Skills
Education
Completed Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Technical Informatics (University of Applied Sciences/Technical College) or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Approximately 10 years of experience in plant planning, software development, and automation projects.
- Demonstrable project management experience focused on plant automation and/or vertical integration.
- In-depth knowledge of handling building automation and monitoring systems.
- Familiarity with cGxP and HSE requirements in regulated production environments.
