Job Summary

The successful candidate will join the Science & Research (S&R) - Chemical and Process Sciences department in Geneva, contributing significantly to the development of optimized industrial processes, specifically utilizing innovative catalytic methodologies for the fragrance and flavor industry. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing multi-step synthesis procedures, scaling them from gram optimization up to kilogram validation, and screening both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. You will be responsible for tracking and analyzing chemical reactions using advanced analytical techniques like GC, HPLC, IR, and NMR. The role involves synthesizing intermediates, final products, and organometallic catalysts, followed by purification via extraction, distillation, crystallization, and chromatography. This position is attractive as it offers the chance to participate in R&D innovation within a competitive, global, and intercultural environment, while actively proposing solutions to technical challenges and ensuring strict adherence to HS&E procedures. Education

CFC in Chemistry or equivalent vocational diploma

Experience

  • Proven practical experience in an industrial research and development laboratory environment
  • Good knowledge of organic chemistry
  • Familiarity with catalysis, organometallic chemistry, and pressure reactions is an asset
