Job Summary

This role involves taking full-service responsibility for defining, setting up, configuring, and administering central firewalls and associated port security (802.1X) across the Archdiocese's main locations and diocesan schools. The specialist will also manage the corresponding IP network (L2 and L3) and provide 2nd level support and consultation for IT security, LAN, WAN, and VPN networks. Key responsibilities include contract and provider management, analyzing and implementing security patches, firmware updates, and system upgrades, as well as creating comprehensive documentation and technical instructions. The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Computer Science or a completed IT Specialist apprenticeship with relevant further training, possesses detailed knowledge of current IT hardware/software, and has professional experience in IT project management and change processes. This position offers an opportunity to ensure the secure and reliable operation of one of Upper Bavaria's largest IT networks, serving over 1,200 locations.
