Job Summary

This Research Associate role focuses on the digital transformation of battery cell manufacturing, specifically within the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft's initiative to establish a modern, scalable battery production infrastructure for Germany and Europe. The successful candidate will work within the "Digitization of Battery Cell Manufacturing" division, focusing on building, operating, and researching the necessary digital infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include the scientific development and optimization of battery cell production using data, identifying data-driven use cases across the battery value chain, and developing scalable data preprocessing pipelines. A core component of the role involves designing, developing, and maintaining data ontologies for semantic modeling and enhancing data exchange between systems. Furthermore, the associate will analyze and develop methods for simulation and intelligent coupling of simulation models to enable data-based decision support, complemented by the acquisition and coordination of national and international research projects.
