Job Summary

This leadership role involves overseeing and coordinating a team of six in the Bridge and Structural Engineering unit within the Civil Engineering and Transport department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the long-term planning of new construction and maintenance programs, including cost estimation and financial planning for these projects. Key tasks include managing engineering firms through all project phases (LPH 1-9), supervising bridge design, conducting re-calculation guideline adherence, and overseeing design competitions. The role also encompasses preparing tenders, construction supervision for new builds and maintenance, drafting planning approval documents for new bridges and road connections, and presenting designs and statements in public forums. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree (Dipl.-Ing. (FH) or Bachelor) in Civil Engineering, preferably with a focus on structural engineering in bridge construction.

Experience

  • Professional experience in structural engineering, preferably in bridge construction (design, tendering, construction supervision)
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations (ZTV-ING, HOAI, VOB, re-calculation guidelines, DIN standards)
  • Experience in preparing engineering contracts and supervising external engineering firms
  • Knowledge of building inspection, ideally with relevant training
  • Experience in public administration (desirable)
