Job Summary

This crucial role involves taking responsibility for IT budgeting, expenditure control, and financial planning within the communal supply funds of Westphalia-Lippe (kvw). The IT Controller will manage the planning, control, and analysis of IT project and investment management, working closely with the Finance department. Key daily tasks include preparing regular reports, forecasts, ad-hoc analyses, and managing IT billing for specialized departments and partner funds. The ideal candidate possesses professional experience in IT Controlling or comparable positions, deep knowledge of cost and performance accounting, and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. This position requires a high level of responsibility, analytical thinking, and a structured approach to optimizing processes, ensuring transparency, and supporting data-driven decision-making within a public institution dedicated to social and cultural welfare.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diplom/Bachelor) in Business Administration, Finance & Controlling, Data Analytics, Business Informatics, Informatics, or a related field; OR a completed degree for the general administrative service (e.g., Bachelor of Laws in Public Administration); OR successful completion of the promotion examination for the general administrative service; OR successful completion of the Administration Clerk course (VL II).

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT Controlling or comparable Controlling positions
  • Initial experience in Project and Program Controlling
  • Experience in applying EVB-IT contracts (desirable)
  • Long-term professional experience in relevant fields (for non-academic qualifications)
