Job Summary

The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Institute of Physics, focusing on cutting-edge developments in photoacoustic imaging. This part-time (50%, potentially up to 65%) position is initially limited to three years and offers the opportunity for doctoral qualification. The role involves designing and developing novel optical sensors and detection methods, constructing optical measurement setups, controlling equipment, and creating numerical models for transduction mechanisms. Key responsibilities also include publishing scientific results and contributing to teaching in the field of medical physics. Candidates must possess a scientific university degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Biophysics, or equivalent Engineering Science, coupled with experience in programming (Matlab, Python, Julia, C++), numerical simulation, and signal processing. Excellent English skills and good German skills are highly desirable for this collaborative and self-organized scientific role.
