Job Summary

This role involves protecting Germany's Critical Infrastructures (KRITIS), specifically within the Health Sector (hospitals, labs, pharmaceutical companies), from cyber threats. The Consultant will be responsible for supervising and supporting KRITIS operators, conducting technical reviews of submitted evidence regarding IT system security measures, and performing on-site audits. A key component of the role is assessing and handling IT disruptions and security incidents, which includes participating in the BSI's situation center and taking on standby duties for several weeks per year in Bonn. The position requires strong expertise in IT systems, processes, and architectures, combined with knowledge of information security management and risk assessment. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant Master's degree in a technical field and excellent communication skills to network nationally and internationally, strengthening cybersecurity across the health sector.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent (Diplom (Uni) / Master) in (Business) Informatics, Technical Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, Communications Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, ideally with a focus on Cybersecurity.

Experience

  • Professional experience in Information Security Management, Risk Management, or IT Revision
  • Relevant professional experience (multi-year preferred) in clinics, hospitals, laboratories, or another Critical Infrastructure sector
  • Professional experience in auditing corporate IT within the Health Sector or comparable activities
  • Experience with common security requirements (e.g., BSI-Grundschutz, ISO 27001, GAiN, RUN)

Additional

  • Must consent to an extended security clearance check (§ 9 SÜG). Must be willing to take on standby duties (on-call service) in Bonn for several weeks per year. Willingness to undertake occasional business travel. Position is temporary for 5 years.
