This role involves specialized engineering work focused on the development and modeling of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems for a leading energy corporation in Erlangen. The successful candidate will be responsible for building detailed dynamic simulation models of converters and their controls, primarily utilizing tools like MATLAB/Simulink and PSCAD/EMTDC. Key daily tasks include integrating advanced voltage-forming control concepts, performing dynamic analyses for grid stability studies, and calculating reactive power requirements and transient behavior. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Electrical or Control Engineering, deep expertise in power electronics, and practical experience with the required simulation tools. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering, ideally focused on Power Engineering or Mechatronics.

Experience

  • Deep understanding and experience in power electronics, particularly converter modeling and control (e.g., HVDC systems, wind turbines)
  • Experience with voltage-forming control concepts
