Job Summary
This role supports cutting-edge scientific projects in therapeutic genome editing at the University Cancer Center (UCC/NCT) Dresden, a globally leading group in the field. The assistant will primarily focus on laboratory work involving sequence-specific recombinases and CRISPR-based base editors (ABE). Daily responsibilities include performing cell culture experiments, DNA isolation, PCR, Western Blots, and FACS analysis. A critical component of the job is the independent execution of animal experiments (mice), requiring mandatory FELASA-B certification and solid practical experience. Candidates must possess a state-recognized technical assistant degree (BTA/MTA) and be proficient in standard molecular biology techniques, documentation, and MS Office. Required Skills
Education
State-recognized degree as Biological-Technical Assistant / Medical-Technical Assistant or comparable qualification in the molecular biology field.
Experience
- Professional experience with experimental cell culture techniques
- Familiarity with standard molecular methods (PCR, flow cytometry, bacterial cultivation, cloning, DNA sequencing)
- Solid practical experience in animal experimentation
- Experience with transfection methods (advantageous)
