Job Summary

This role involves providing technical support and management for laboratory facilities within the Water Resources and Hydrodynamics teaching area at Bochum University of Applied Sciences. The technician will be responsible for organizing and ensuring safety in the lab, conducting various experiments (e.g., sediment transport, flow measurement), and installing and calibrating specialized measuring instruments like Laser-Doppler Velocimetry and pressure sensors. A key part of the job includes preparing and executing field measurements (e.g., ADCP, HyCat), documenting results, and performing initial data analysis using software like R, MATLAB, or Python. The successful candidate will also assist in research and development projects in hydraulic engineering and hydrology, create technical drawings using CAD, and support students during laboratory exercises and practicals. This is an attractive, permanent, full-time position offering varied tasks and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.
