Job Summary

This permanent, full-time position as a Biological Laboratory Technician, based in Rostock, involves comprehensive support for bacteriological analysis and general laboratory operations. The core responsibilities include meticulous sample preparation, such as receiving, logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), assessing sample condition, inoculating various culture media, handling enrichment cultures, and managing incubation processes based on target pathogens and requirements. You will also be responsible for essential quality assurance tasks, including creating and maintaining QM documentation, validating test methods, conducting ring tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Day-to-day duties also encompass general lab organization, such as planning and ordering consumables, cleaning, and waste disposal. The ideal candidate must have completed vocational training as a Biological Laboratory Technician or Assistant, possess proven practical experience in microbiology, exhibit dexterity in handling bacterial cultures and pipetting, and demonstrate strong organizational and teamwork skills. The role offers flexible hours and stability within the state public service.
