Job Summary

This position seeks a highly qualified Research Associate to drive innovation in Digital Twins within industrial data spaces, specifically targeting the unique business processes of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The role involves hands-on research, focusing on event-coupled processes from the value chain down to the shop floor. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing and implementing digital models, developing prototype Intranet applications for SMEs, and actively contributing to industrial standardization efforts, such as the Industrial Digital Twin organization. Furthermore, the role requires scientific dissemination of results at international conferences and the preparation of research project proposals. The ideal candidate holds an above-average Master’s degree in a technical field like Informatics or Electrical Engineering and possesses strong expertise in semantic modeling, ontologies, and modern IT architecture, coupled with programming skills in languages like C#, Python, or Java.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (Informatics, Mechatronics, Technical Cybernetics, Electrical Engineering, Economics, or comparable qualification) with above-average performance

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific research and development
  • Expertise in semantic modeling, ontologies, or industrial communication (minimum two areas required)
  • Knowledge of software development and modern IT system architecture
  • Ability to conduct independent scientific work
