This role seeks a meticulous Metallurgical Testing Technician to join a leading international manufacturer of agricultural machinery in Paderborn. The core responsibilities involve the precise preparation of material samples, including cutting, embedding, and grinding, followed by rigorous material analyses. You will execute various testing methods such as spectral analysis, Brinell, Vickers, and microhardness testing. A key part of the role is evaluating microstructures microscopically against industry standards and assessing material data sheets provided by suppliers. Candidates must possess formal training as a Materials Tester, Physics Laboratory Technician, or equivalent technical qualification (e.g., Industrial Mechanic with specialization in Metal/Materials Technology). Expertise in testing cast and steel materials, evaluating hardening and tempering processes, analyzing weld seams, and assessing metallic coatings (like chrome plating thickness) is essential. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Materials Tester, Physics Laboratory Technician, or Material Testing Technician, or a relevant technical trade (e.g., Industrial Mechanic, Mechatronics Technician) combined with advanced training in Metal Technology/Materials Technology.
