Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Head of Building and Operations Technology to lead the technical operations of an internationally recognized research institute focused on legal history and theory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the continuous, proper functioning and regulatory compliance of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, sanitary, and elevators. Key daily tasks involve monitoring and controlling these installations using sophisticated Building Management Systems (BMS), performing computer-aided documentation and parameterization, and maintaining records using ARCHIBUS software. You will also play a crucial role in conceptualizing and implementing construction and maintenance projects, collaborating closely with external planners and the Max Planck Society building department. Furthermore, you will manage energy documentation for ISO 50001 certification and lead a small in-house technical team. This position requires a certified Technician or Master Craftsman qualification in Electrical Engineering or Plant Operations, multi-year experience with BMS, and excellent German and good English skills, offering a permanent, full-time contract with public service benefits.
