Job Summary
This crucial role involves managing complex financial operations within the Sigmaringen city administration, focusing heavily on public sector accounting and legal compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing the annual budget plan and financial statements using accrual accounting (Doppik) for the Intercommunal Industrial Park, overseeing the economic management of the proprietary Sewage Works operation, and handling the tax processing for commercial operations, including the implementation of the VAT compliance system (§ 2 b UStG). The Deputy Head will also manage billing for the kindergarten sector, engage in financial project work such as grant applications, and serve as a training officer within the finance administration. The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Public Management or equivalent financial/business administration qualification, coupled with strong knowledge of municipal commercial law and proprietary operations law. Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in higher administrative service (e.g., Bachelor of Arts – Public Management), Diploma in Business Administration/Bachelor of Science, a comparable degree, or certification as a Municipal Accountant.
Experience
- Professional experience in financial administration or public sector finance
- Experience preparing budget plans and annual financial statements (Doppik)
