Job Summary
The State Tax Administration of North Rhine-Westphalia is seeking a dedicated Network Administrator to join its Support Team for Networks, System Technology, Administration, and UPS. This role is crucial for managing the data network across the Düsseldorf / Bergisches Land region. Day-to-day responsibilities include the planning, setup, and comprehensive support of various networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN), including full system conversions and component rollout planning. You will be configuring switches, routers, and performing necessary software updates, as well as analyzing and resolving network disturbances. Collaboration with software development and IT operations teams is a key component of the job. Candidates must possess a technical degree (e.g., Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent professional experience, paired with several years of practical expertise in Windows/Linux Server environments and virtualization. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or University of Applied Sciences degree in a relevant data processing field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Communications Technology, or Engineering Sciences).
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience demonstrating equivalent skills (if degree is absent)
- Several years of practical experience in at least two of the following areas: Windows Server, Linux Server, Virtualization technologies, and User Support
- Experience working in agile teams (beneficial)
- Experience in IT operations and environment management (beneficial)
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required due to business travel. Willingness to travel within the supported region (Düsseldorf / Bergisches Land). Must be able to report to or be assigned to the Marl Tax Office or one of the supported service locations.
