Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated QGIS Consultant to plan and implement Open-Source Geoinformation Systems (GIS) and Geodata Infrastructures (GDI) for a diverse client base, including large public authorities and companies in sectors like energy and transport. Key responsibilities involve creating detailed technical concepts, developing and customizing desktop and web GIS software, and managing spatial data using tools like PostgreSQL/PostGIS. The ideal candidate possesses multi-year practical experience with QGIS customization, expertise in the QGIS Python API, and familiarity with related GDI components such as QGIS Server and QField. The position is attractive due to its commitment to Open Source, offering high flexibility with a 38.5-hour work week, flexible core hours (10 am – 3 pm), and the choice of hybrid, office, or remote work across four German locations (Bonn, Berlin, Hamburg, Freiburg). Required Skills

Education

Completed apprenticeship or degree in Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Surveying, or Cartography

Experience

  • Multi-year experience in practical work with QGIS and QGIS customization
  • Experience in configuring QGIS (e.g., profiles, GUI, plugins)
  • Foundational experience in the interaction of QGIS with relevant GDI software and services (e.g., QGIS Server, QWC2, QField, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS)
  • Experience in conducting workshops, trainings, or courses
